Step 2:
Assemble Equipment
- Open the Case
- Put in the motherboard
- Secure the motherboard to the case with provided screws
- Place the CPU on the motherboard
- Lock the CPU to the motherboard
- Put the heatsink on the CPU
- Put the CPU fan on the heatsink on the CPU
- Put in the RAM with the largest amount in slot 1
- Put the rest of the RAM in the next slots
- Put the harddrive in an empty 3.5" bay that cannot be seen on the outside
- Put in the best optical drive you have (a DVD burner would be good) in an open 5.25" bay
- Attach the IDE or SATA cable to the drive and the motherboard
- Attach the audio cable to the drive and the motherboard
- Repeat those steps for any other optical drives
- Put the floppy drive in a 3.5" open bay
- Attach the FDD cable to the drive and motherboard
- Plug in the video card into the topmost expansion slot (AGP or PCI)
- Plug in the network card into any open PCI slot
- Plug in the USB 2.0 card into any open PCI slot
- Screw in fans in desired places
- Plug in the power cable from the power supply (it's the biggest connector) into the motherboard
- Plug in the power cable for the CPU fan into the CPU fan
- Plug in the power cables for all drives (FDD is smaller)
- Plug in the power cables for all other fans
NOTE: Doing this in this order is a good way to do it, but there are other orders for putting in the components. This is my version of it. It should work. Nothing is ever guaranteed to work.
